Lemon Verbena Essential Oil 10ml

Verbenaceae.

Native to Chile, Peru, Argentina and Bolivia but now found elsewhere including Spain and other Mediterranean countries.

The oil is steam distilled from the dried herb.

Antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, digestive, emollient, febrifuge, hepatic, insecticide, sedative, stomachic and tonic. 

In massage and skincare Lemon Verbena is used as a calming and de-stressing oil, specifically when blended in a carrier oil. It is particularly indicated for digestive problems caused by stress. It's also used in massage in cases of insomnia, anxiety and hysteria. It can be used in a bath for the same purpose but only 2-3 drops are necessary as it's a strong oil that can cause sensitisation of the skin. For this reason great care should be used if you are blending it in a lotion or cream. 

When burned or vaporised it's again used to combat stress and anxiety as well as depression or sombre moods. It's a good oil to burn before bedtime - a couple of drops mixed with 4-5 drops of Lavender can help you to fall asleep. 

You may find that Lemon Verbena blends particularly well with lemon, elemi, neroli and palmarosa.
