Astaxanthin is a carotenoid sourced from freshwater microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis) that has been cultivated using the pristine waters from the Himalayas. An antioxidant which cannot be produced by the body on its own, astaxanthin must come from food or supplementation. Similarly, the beta carotene in this complex is derived from Dunaliella Salina algae. Beta carotene is a type of pigment found naturally in plants and yellow and red-orange coloured fruits and vegetables. Our bodies convert beta carotene into vitamin A as and when it is required, ensuring safe levels of this nutrient. In turn, vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and vision, as well as the normal function of the immune system.

The addition of grape seed (Vitis vinifera L.) extract provides a source of natural polyphenols and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). Standardised to 95% OPCs, grape seed extract is an ideal source of beneficial bioflavonoids, making this a great all-round supplement to add into your summer routine.
