Prebiotics and Probiotics
In a normal gut, there will be, typically, about 3 lb of bacteria but the so-called friendly ones which help with digestion are outnumbered by those that can cause problems. At best, the good bacteria make up about a third of the population. At worst, especially if you’ve taken antibiotics for a while or just eaten a bad diet for years, there may be so few good bacteria they’re almost non-existent.
Examples of Prebiotics are F.O.S and Molkosan which prepare the way for the good bacteria to survive and populate more effectively.
