Essential Oils
Essential oils are natural products extracted from the flowers, seeds, fruit, leaves or root of the plant. The oil usually retains the fragrance of the original plant material, but is very much more intense. Essential oils are usually non-grasy, easily vaporised and readily solvent in alcohol or other oils. Many essential oils have excellent preservative, germicidal and antiseptic properties.
Even for those of us who are not practising aromatherapy, a key selection of essential oils should be a staple in every home.
