Detox and Weight Loss
Detoxification is the process of eliminating or neutralising toxins through the main organs of detoxification, i.e. the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. The accumulation of toxins is a direct result of digestive enzymes mixing with foods causing a chemical reaction. This then adheres to the walls of the intestines impeding absorption of nutrients from the gut wall into the bloodstream. It also tends to harbour bad bacteria because they can live off the plaque. Meanwhile, the processes carried out by the individual glands such as liver and kidneys, results in toxins produced by their processes. As toxins build up, our bodies become less efficient at removing normally acumulated waste and toxins. Such symptoms are often linked to acne, allergies, arthritis, PMS, hypertension, cellulite and gastritis to a body overloaded with toxins. It is therefore not suprising that at times we feel heavy, lethargic and sluggish.
