Uses: Menopausal hot flushes, excessive sweating, sore throats. Description: Sage is commonly used to enhance the taste of food. The plant is native to the Mediterranean, although it also grows well in temperate climes. How it works: Sage is believed to rebalance the sweat-regulating mechanism in the brain, which can be thrown out of balance by hormonal changes taking place during the menopause. Excessive sweating in women or men (eg. palms, feet) may also be corrected by Sage. In addition, Sage has a separate role in preventing sweating. The combination of these two actions makes Sage an excellent preparation to help with the hot flushes which often accompany the decline in hormonal levels at the time of the menopause. Sage has also been found to possess antibacterial properties and can be very beneficial for sore throats when used as a gargle.

  • Sage (Salvia) boasts the enviable reputation of bringing eternal life. While it can never achieve this objective, the popularity of this strongly scented herb and the capacity for its leaves to display beads of liquid in hot weather is well documented. Alfred Vogel commended its value in his writings throughout his life. Ingredients: Tinctures of organically grown fresh Salvia officinalis (Sage) leaves, extracted in alcohol (66% v/v). Directions for Use: Adults: 15-20 drops in a little water 3 times daily. Maintenance: 15-20 drops in a little water once daily, Children: This product is not recommended for children.
